The Parenting for Faith course

Based on the book Parenting Children for a Life of Faith, the original Parenting for Faith course helps parents and carers discover that they are perfectly positioned to show their children the reality of a life with God. It equips them with five key tools to support the children or teenagers in their life to have their own vibrant two-way relationship with him. The course, handbooks and promotional materials are all free to download and use or you can purchase a DVD and handbooks if you prefer. It’s often run in a church or small group, but can be used by individuals as well.

    1. Positioned for Influence

    This session of the course shows how, as parents, we are perfectly positioned and perfectly equipped to daily and easily show our child the reality of a day-to-day life with God.

    This session of the course explains why and how we can give our children a spiritual framework for navigating life. This framework will help them connect the knowledge they have about God with their experiences of life.

    3. Unwinding Wrong Views

    This session of the course helps us to see how we can accidentally contribute to wrong views of God, and gives us tools to proactively unwind them.

    4. Conversational Prayer – Chat

    This session (and the next) will help release our children into a two-way conversation of sharing life with God. 'Chat' is the first stage of that conversation and this session will equip you to introduce your child to chat.

    6. Surfing the Waves

    In this session, we will learn about a simple six-stage model that will enable you to proactively disciple your child.

    7. Prayer Ministry for Children

    In this session, we will be looking at a simple model of prayer ministry designed for use with children and teens to ensure we keep our high-priest hats off and our coach heads on, and we will be giving it a go ourselves.
