Raising our children to be allies against racism

24 October 2023

Through current affairs and social media, we are becoming more aware than ever of the presence of institutional racism in various sectors of society. How can we parent for faith in a way that raises our children to be godly allies in the fight against racism?

For an episode of the Parenting for Faith podcast, Lucy spoke to Father Azariah France-Williams, a priest and author of ‘Ghost Ship: Institutional Racism and the Church of England’.

Azariah shared insights into the experience of growing up as an ethnic minority within a white majority culture like the UK. He helped us to think through how we communicate with our children about racism, and how we raise them to be godly allies, taking our starting point from God’s diverse creation outlined in the Bible.
