Book recommendations: Victoria Beech

19 June 2017

Illness in children is a difficult thing to approach spiritually. If you are looking for books about childhood serious illness, hospital or terminal diagnosis, then have a look at Victoria Beech's series of books.

Victoria Beech’s set of books allow for the seriousness of illness and hospital to be understood, while also exploring the emotions and spiritual encouragement needed for children to journey through the ideas presented.

Accessible and gentle, these books enable families to discuss life-limiting conditions, death, grief, loss of a sibling and the fears of hospital. Victoria Beech co-authored this Held in Hope series with the Pediatric Chaplaincy Network, and offers training for those who are looking to support hurting families.

We would recommend these books for all children, not just ones dealing with illness.
