Being a Christian in a non-Christian world
30 May 2019
As soon as our kids are old enough to go to nursery or school, they will meet people who aren't Christians. And for parents that can throw up a whole range of issues.
In this extract from the Parenting for Faith podcast, Rachel talks about how we can prepare our kids well for this, whether they find themselves in a tricky situation or simply have some questions.
She suggests three things you can do:
- Let them know that not everyone knows about God and so not to be surprised if they ask questions or get things wrong – then you can chat about naturally as it comes up
- Equip them to talk about their faith and their experiences of God rather than teach them the ‘right’ answers
- Create windows into how you’ve dealt with the same situation
